To "Whom It May Concern,
My name is Monique Konstantinovic, and I am a senior at the University of South Florida majoring in Biomedical Sciences. I am also a Team Captain on the USF Cross Country and Track and Field Teams. I am honored to bring to your attention an upcoming event on USF's campus that you might too be excited to take part in.
In the recent decades of medical breakthroughs, one ailment continues to serve as a symbol of what the medical community has yet to conquer cancer. Although much progress has been made in diagnosing and treating types such as breast or skin cancer, Ovarian Cancer remains a relentless condition affecting millions of mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts worldwide. In order to aid in the battle with this malady, more extensive medical research is of paramount importance. Accordingly, beginning March 18, 2012, an annual fundraiser will take place on USF's campus to honor the victims of Ovarian Cancer, whereby all profits of the event will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Research or aimed to assist in reducing the cost of ovarian cancer treatment options for patients. "Race for Her Life: Fighting Ovarian Cancer in Honor of Diane Konstantinovic" will be a five kilometer run/walk event throughout USF's campus honoring the name of those brave women who have gone to battle with the disease.
In order to make this visionary event a reality, I am asking for your assistance. There are actually countless details which go into creating a 5k race on a university campus. As a result, ample funds must be present to support such an event in order for profits to be reaped. Therefore, I ask that you consider sponsoring the "Race for Her Life" through your generous donations. Should you act so charitably, I ensure you would be rewarded through advertisement in the form of race t-shirt attire, social media website logos, and event pages/race participant e- mails. In addition, you would be happily invited to attend the event so that you may further promote any endeavors you may have. Further advertisement or sponsorship accommodation is open for discussion.
Though the field of medicine has made great strides in examining the complexities of cancer, more can always be done, especially in the case of Ovarian Cancer which affects millions of strong women. With your support, the "Race for Her Life" will serve as both a symbol of the loving women in our lives as well as a means to support their fight against Ovarian" Cancer.
In love for our mothers, daughters, and sisters,
Monique Konstantinovic
